Note taking is great. Reading pdfs and other books is okay. Page turning is kind of laggy. Play Store access after setting it up. One update came through but don't expect any more. The company is folding. Can't share notes directly through the app any more - server is shut down. Have to convert and save to Dropbox or separate email (I use Yahoo Mail go). All in all decent if all you want to do is take notes and read a little. At the original price, way to expensive. At it's current $89 it's good
Writing tablet that does its job as an infinite piece of paper that can store your writing & drawings digitally with Android and waterproofing = absolutely perfect for me.
I’ve had a cheap e-ink monitor for the last year and a half. I understand the lag and other aspects of e-ink that throw people off when switching from a lit screen, so I was happy to take a chance on the Wave. I love it enough that I ended up getting a second one just in case.
Most e-ink devices are WAY out of my budget, but I write enough that notebook & pens end up costing at least $20/mo, so e-ink pays itself off :)
Tips:
> Cut down a plastic screen protector to size. Taked a bit to get the bubbles out it will protect your screen from scratches *regardless of stylus tip material* (including titanium & ceramic). They’re super cheap.
> I personally use the native note app, keep the Play Store disabled, and transfer files to/from my phone with a flashdrive to keep things running smoothly!
I like the note taking element and also how the kindle app loads seamlessly.
I would like to see a way to quickly switch between taking notes and reading a book- I often read educational books and it would be a lot of help to be able to quickly jot down a note from what I’m reading.
Also, maybe a magnetic attachment for the pen/stylus would be helpful- something that would hold it in place while reading.
I have this now as a new device and boox. This hardware is fantastic- please learn more about how to improve the software and just improve human interaction section. How do you expect your users to keep your scribe pen with the device??
I tried the Wave for three days, and it simply doesn’t have the stable functionality that I need to do some very basic things.
